We want to hear your story of divorce, separation and ending relationship.
Family Services of Greater Victoria and the Department of Sociology of Vancouver Island University are conducting research into men’s experiences at the end of relationships.

​COVID-19 Safety Plan
General
  • If you are not feeling well –  do not come to the office - please contact us to cancel appointment
    A cancellation fee will NOT apply – if you cancel for not feeling well
  • Note: Symptoms of COVID-19 can include but are not limited to: Fever, Dry Cough, and Sore throat.
    If you do have symptoms - you should arrange to get tested - Please visit

  • Travelers from outside of Canada or those that have been exposed to COVID-19 must self-isolate for 14 days - regardless of symptoms
Waiting Room
  • Maximum – 4 people in the waiting room – to ensure 6ft (2 metre) distances are maintained - Chairs have been positioned to accommodate this
  • All Colouring Materials, Paper, Books have been removed
  • Hand Sanitizers have been setup at the front door
Reception
  • Cash will still be accepted – at the moment I don’t have change – so please pay with exact change
  • Fees can now be paid using TAP via credit or debit card
  • Plexiglass is installed at Reception
Before, During and After Sessions
  • Where applicable Plexiglass will be present between you and the service provider
  • Please try to maintain 6 feet (2 metre) distance where possible
  • At this point – there can be no physical contact – handshakes, fist-bumps, etc.
  • Not all Service Providers will be back in the office - some services will still be provided on-line or over the phone

I am concerned about my Children

Ages 0 – 18+
  • Parenting After Separation - Effective October 25th, this session can only be done online(not through this website)
    Note this course is Mandatory for those filing an application in court about parenting arrangements, contact or support – this can include Step-Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, etc.
Ages 4 – 18+
  • Individual Counselling including Play and Art Therapy
    We find that children under the age of 4 do not respond to any kind of counselling/therapy - therefore we do not provide service to children under the age of 4
Ages 7 – 12
  • Caught in the Middle - Group Program
    - If a child participates – one of the parents must participate as well (children and parents are in different groups)
    - Parents can attend without a child
    - Parents of the same child CANNOT attend the same group

I am concerned about my legal rights/responsibilities (or wondering about the process of separation or divorce)?

  • Separation Resource Services
    Whether you have a lawyer (or not), or are not yet separated
    ​This Service is also beneficial to Grandparents, Step-Parents, etc.

I am having trouble with access to my Child(ren) or
I need a supervisor on visits with my Child(ren)

*Family Services of Greater Victoria is part of the Victoria Social Innovation Centre.  The Victoria Social Innovation Centre is a 15,000 square feet building that exists to provide low cost, long-term (or short-term) stable space for local non-profit organizations.  The building is fully accessible, and each organization has their own space, as well as access to shared board/group rooms.
